As for the project of 52 centres, I should remind you that it is carried out satisfacto- rily. I have had the opportunity to realize it during a recent visit on the building sites of the project in AMBAM, MONATELE and BATOURI.Obviously, these projects that are car- ried out satisfactorily across the national territory give me, in a manner of spea- king, the occasion to renew our deep and respectful gratitude to the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya, who decided to provide CAMWATER with the necessary means for the achieve- ment of our missions.Water and energy are fundamental to the industrial take-off of Cameroon and the strategic pillars for the emergence in 2035; what then has Camwater plan to do to fulfill its contract? The Growth and Employment Strategy Paper (GESP) sets the goals to attain withinthe framework of the improvement of access to drinking water for our people, as follows: 60% by 2020 and 85% by 2030.In order to achieve this, we recently adopted the Master Plan of the Urban and Suburban Water Sector, a real com- pass that expresses both the vision and broad guidelines. Estimated at over 2,000 billion CFA F, it will in the main require to fund the modernization of pro- duction, transport, storage and drinking water distribution infrastructures, the deve- lopment of new centres, access to drin- king water for the largest majority through intensification and facilitation of connec- tions operations on the drinking water dis- tribution network in partnership with the CDE, our strategic partner. All in all, with the support of the Government and support from the donor community, we hope that these goals will be achieved within the time limits set for this purpose n.Mr. Alphonse Roger Ondoa Akoa, General ManagerLES ATOUTS ECONOMIQUES DU CAMEROUN153
