The idea behind its promoters’ initiative was to fill a void which occurred as a result of the liberalization of the downstream petroleum sector. The office therefore intended to accompany new participants in terms of education and training, especially in a competitive and sensitive environment...INTRODUCTIONDownstream Consulting which is now a Limited Company with a Board of Directors, has twelve years of experience, and has wor- ked its way up to a consulting leader on downstream oil sector. Downstream Consulting task then consisted essen- tially of two points: the daily consulting and sup- port to its partner in the creation and development of the filling stations’ network, particularly through assistance in research and site evaluation. The opening of the first TRADEX filling stations in Cameroon, and specifically in Yaoundé, led the company to recruit, train and provide temporary staff who had to work therein under direct mana- gement. Subsequently, the activity of provision of staff evolved to the mandated management. This has enabled TRADEX to keep full control over its stations, and at the same time to save the jobs created and to grant the staff of the stations with real career possibilities. In TRADEX opinion, supporting Downstream Consulting in the development of its network is the guarantee of an extended and judicious offer of adequate sites and investment. Besides, within the framework of the partnership, the consultancy seeks to save its partner from the worries inherent in managing filling stations such as outstanding payments, deterioration of the quality of products, stock shortages, etc, ... According to TRADEX customers, it is an oppor- tunity to have quality products available everyw- here and quality service. The adopted model of subcontracting is a text- book case, in the light of respect of the terms of the partnership, alignment with the interna- tional standards of filling stations facilities and enhancement of working conditions of the fil- ling stations staffs.A CONSULTANCY SPECIALISTIN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTIONDownstream Consulting is approved respectively by the MINEPDED and MINMIT as a Consultancy in performing environmental impact
