94LES ATOUTS ECONOMIQUES DU CAMEROUNAT AN INTERNATIONAL LEVELThe country took part in the following competi- tions:o The FIFA Women's World Cup "Canada 2015";o The Commonwealth Youth Games "Samoa Islands 2015";o Various African Championships: wrestling, judo, weightlifting, etc. ;o Women and Men’s African Nations Cup of volleyball;o The FAAZA International Athletic Competition (International Tournament for Visually impaired) in Dubai.AT NATIONAL LEVELVarious sporting competitions were organized in Cameroon, including:o The 13th edition of the “Grand Prix Cycliste Chantal Biya”;o The Mount Cameroon Ascent in Buea; o The African Championships of Sambo,Athletics and Table Tennis;o The first edition of the ANC of football for visuallyimpaired (Blind Football) “Douala 2015”;o The 5th edition of the Open Golf Yaounde ... After the sporting competitions, some national teams were remarkable for their brilliant perfor- mance. For instance, the Sambo national team, African champion; the CECIFOOT national team, African vice-champion; and the seniorwomen's football national team, which participa- ted in the 1/8 elimination round in the last World Cup and best African team of 2015.Internationally, Cameroon was able to welcome the appointment of a few worthy sons at senior positions in some international sports organiza- tions, namely, Issa Hayatou as acting FIFA President, an appointment for which the Nation paid him a resounding tribute; Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, Vice-President of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF); François Mbassi, President of the African Confederation of Nanbudo and Sambo.The highlight of the 2015 season was the closing ceremony and solemn presentation of trophies to the cup winning teams, a ceremony presided over by the Head of State.INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENTIn this regard, the commitments made by the State of Cameroon with regard to the African Football Confederation to host the 2016 and 2019 ANCs led all relevant public services to take steps to fulfill AFC’s terms of reference.As to the MINSEP specifically, construction and rehabilitation work of sports infrastructure have been initiated and are in progress.For the 2016 African Nations Cup (Women’s ANC) scheduled in Yaounde and Limbe, preparatory works are moving forward in the right direction.A view of the sports hall in Yaounde
