                 • Rural roads serve rural areas, plantations and local industrial zones. They enable to link production areas to the local markets or marketing of centres.
• The rest of non-classified network is under the responsibility of development companies (SODE- COTON, CDC and SOCAPALM) or decentrali- zed territorial authorities.
NATIONAL ROAD NETWORK
The national road network is at public expense; it is now nearly 122,108 km long with 7,000 km of asphalted roads, 21,490 km of main roads net- work and nearly 100,243 km of rural network. According to the listed roads, we have trunk roads, regional roads, divisional roads and rural roads.
TRUNK ROADS
According to the latest Ministerial Decree on the definition of the priority network roads, (Decree N0 3295/MINTP/CAB on 9 November 1999), Cameroon has eighteen trunk roads across the entire territory.

With its 1.385 km, the Trunk road N°1 is the longest road in Cameroon

Trunk Road N° 3
Yaoundé - Douala - Limbé - Idenau
It is a 397-km entirely asphalted road, with an unusual sight when it opens onto the sea. From Limbé city up to Idenau, the road makes its way with on one side, the Atlantic Ocean’s waves
A 1,385-km road, the trunk road No1 is the lon- gest one in Cameroon. It links up the South Region to the Far-North through the East, the Adamawa and the North. This fully asphalted road is located on the Douala-N’Djamena corri- dor in Chad Republic.

Yaoundé - Ambam - Frontière Gabon - Frontière Guinée Equatoriale
It is a road 294 km long, entirely asphalted
