                                             In the first half of 2017 and year-on-year, produc- tion grew by 4.3% and exports by 1.6%.
CRUDE PALM OIL
For the year 2016, industrial production of crude palm oil fell by 7.2% compared to 2015 to 130 129 tons. This evolution is attributable to adverse weather conditions and aging plantations. The “Société Camerounaise des Palmeraies”, SOCA- PALM, the main company of the sector, has inves- ted 19.4 billion to increase the yields, to renew the production tool and to fight vandalism against the plantations.
In the first half of 2017 and year-on-year, indus- trial production of crude palm oil rose by 6.7%, following recent investments in 2016.
SUBSISTENCE CROPS
In 2016, the production of food crops increased by 5.8% against 5.4% in 2015. Crops among which cereals, roots and tubers, as well as fruits and vegetables are concerned.
CEREALS
The sector mainly includes maize, millet/sorghum and paddy rice.
