It consists in promoting the capacity building of farmers and support for academic and professio- nal training.
During the first half-year of 2017, more than 450 farmers benefited from training sessions on far- mers' organizations (Cooperatives) organized by UNVDA. Similarly, 22 farmers, on PRODERIP’s (JICA) initiative, were trained on rice cultivation at IRAD Nkolbison Yaoundé, and 1,161 other far- mers were trained on rice cultivation at the UNVDA seed farm by PRODERIP from 3 sectors (Lower Bamunka, Upper Bamunka and Babungo). UNVDA is currently training rice farmers in the Mbaw / Mbonso production area in collabora- tion with GPDERUDEP.
• UNVDA supports farmers in the use of impro- ved crop technologies through the provision of extension services specifically in the field of rice cultivation. Our extension agents live with farmers and provide technical advice, input supply and equipment rental to farmers on a daily basis.
