MAIN CATEGORIES OF TOURISM
The richness of tourism product is based on many attractions thanks to the diversity of tourism resources. Natural, human and cultural varieties combine to encourage the practice of various forms of tourism year-round.
TOURISM OF PHOTO SAFARI AND HUNTING
Cameroon has seven national parks, the most famous and better developed of which is Waza. The parks are rich in animal species representative of the African fauna, with ele- phants, buffaloes, antelopes, hippopotamuses, gorillas, etc. While hunting is prohibited in the national parks, there are fourteen hunting areas with over 500 km of groomed trails. Hunting is open from December to May in strict com- pliance with the Convention on the protection of endangered species.
CULTURAL TOURISM
Cameroon is a mosaic of nearly 250 ethnic groups, with different customs and traditions. Tourism can therefore have taste of diversity, which is found in traditional architecture: fol- klore, religion, cuisine, crafts, etc. The historical heritage is also rich with monuments and ves- tiges of the triple colonial legacy of Germany, France and Britain.
MOUNTAIN TOURISM
The mountain range of the West offers a suitable environment with Mount Cameroon, which culmi- nates at more than 4 070 m, Mount Manengouba at the hinge of the Littoral and the

South-West, and the Dschang Climatic Centre built on a plateau rising to 1,800 m. The Adamawa is endowed with hot springs.
