The National Investment Corporation of Cameroon (SNI), a state-owned financial institution with more than 50 years of experience in promoting private investment -identified as catalyst of Cameroon's 2035 vision of emergence- has as main objective to raise domestic savings or any other means of financing and to chan- nel them in such a way as to facilitate equity investment operations of economic and social interest in the indus- trial, agricultural, commercial and financial sectors, as well as in the services and hotel sectors.
Indeed, the Cameroonian economy, like several eco- nomies in the world, aims at reaching rapid and sus- tainable growth which is generally the result of a com- bination of factors including entrepreneurship and value added investment, conducive to job creation and the emergence of new technologies, in particular through trade and foreign direct investment (FDI).
The investment rate in Cameroon which was estima- ted at 22.8 % of GDP in 2017, is still below the 25% threshold necessary to boost the strong, sustai- ned and inclusive growth foreseen in the Growth and Employment Strategy Paper (GESP), an integra- ted comprehensive strategy for the economic deve- lopment of Cameroon over the long term.
Having contributed to create numerous economic powerhouses in Cameroon over the past decades, SNI intends to continue playing a central role in rai- sing the investment rate in Cameroon, notably through various well-chosen fields of intervention which are guidance and support to investors, feasi- bility and evaluation studies, funding and financial intermediation, equity, purchase and disposal of securities, consultancy and assistance.
In the framework of each of these areas of interven- tion, SNI welcomes key partners for joint ventures in view of the exploitation of Cameroon’s abundant investment opportunities n
