                 In the first half of 2017, the census of 95 street children was conducted in Yaoundé and Douala, of which 3 were placed with family and 36 in self-employment.
PROMOTING WOMEN AND GENDER
In 2016, major actions still focused on raising awareness and advocating against violence against women. They concern: the extension of legal instruments for the protection of women's rights to 50,901 leaders of women's associations and NGOs; the training of 150 police officers in the protection of women and children; the training of 16,126 women in the setting up and management of income-genera- ting activities; the distribution of agro-pastoral material to 191 women's groups; the equip- ping of Dschang, Bafang, Nkongsamba and Kumbo Women's and Family Development Centres. In the first half of 2017, these were the actions carried out: sensitization of 24,622 leaders of women's groups on vio- lence against women; the training of 20,696 women in the setting up and management of income-generating activities.
PROMOTION OF THE FAMILY
In 2016, the following actions were carried out: raising the awareness of 700 leaders of women’s associations on the health of mothers and children in certain health districts; the sensiti- zation of 436 traditional and religious leaders to combat maternal, neonatal and infant mortality; building the technical and material capacities of 174 community leaders; the education of 1,720

households on maternal and child health ser- vices; the support for the celebration of 3,251 collective marriages.
In the first half of 2017, the actions carried out were: prenuptial, marital and family education of 7,440 families; the granting of aid and relief in health, schooling and food to 639 families and the needy; the support for the celebration of 1,447 collective marriages.
YOUTH SUPERVISION AND CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION
Government actions focused on citizenship edu- cation, social integration and youth economic development. In 2016, the Agency of National Civic Service for Development Participation (ASCNPD) trained 1,500 young people in civic values. As part of the National Volunteer Programme: 240 motorcycles Taximen were trai- ned in first aid; 200 young people put their skills into the “Youth Volunteer Vacations” operation. In addition, 440 peer educators have been trained to combat social ills.
ECONOMIC PROMOTION OF YOUNG PEOPLE
In 2016, as part of the socio-economic integra- tion of young people, the actions carried out focused on: the training of 33,485 young peo- ple for self-employment; the integration of 4,083 young people; the financing of 1,967 projects; the construction of 3 multifunctional youth promo- tion centres in Isangele, Misaje and Wina. In the first half of 2017, 2,150 youth projects were validated by PAJER-U and 38 funded by the National Youth Integration Fund.
